Toy parrot and owl

Hello, dear readers. You can make a good toy for a child or a home decoration out of old things and clothes that are a pity to throw out. From fur fabric from old boots and felt, we got two soft toys - a parrot and owlet, for the manufacture of which we used threads of black and white colors, a sewing needle, scissors, paper with a pencil for making samples, as well as nail polish, cotton wool , leather fabric of black and brown color, fabric with light brown and blue fur (from old boots), white eye fabric, scotch tape and needles for stabbing. The manufacturing process took us a week. These two toys have turned out:

Getting started, we first make their paper samples:

We decided to start Sew with the manufacture of toy parrot. After taking a sample and cutting off its extra elements (wings, “fluff” on the neck, legs and feather on the head), we take the felt fabric and fold it in two. Then we pinned a paper sample to this fabric and cut out the shape with the allowance area about 1 cm.: Toy parrot and owl
Next we take the threads are white and we make seams along the edges of the figure, leaving sections of the allowance about 0.5 cm wide in order to increase the size of our craft. We leave the free space below to turn it out from the wrong side: Toy parrot and owl Now we turn the resulting billet out of its wrong side and fill wadding:

After the figure is filled with cotton, the non-sewn lower part of the cloth needs to be processed th: Toy parrot and sovienok Now we take the cloth on the fur of light browncolors and cut off a narrow long strip from it:

With this strip of fabric we need to wrap around the neck of the future toy, and then, cutting off the excess part of the strip, sew the fur fabric behind the ends:

Next we make the eyes by making blanks for of paper. From white and black fabrics, folded them in two, we cut the samples and lay them one to another, then sew them together:

The resulting eyes need to be sewn to the figure. We cut out two details of the beak from brown leather:
 Toy parrot and owlet
We need to glue these two parts together and make them together. But besides them, we have to cut in pairs more details of the paws, tail and two parts of the wings:

The resulting details of the wings and tail we sew along the edges, leaving small holes in order to turn them out from the wrong side: Toy parrot and owl After the details of the wings and tail are sewn and turned out on the front side, the details of the wings can be filled with cotton. The tail can not be filled with cotton, and paws cut from leather fabric can be glued in pairs (if desired): Toy parrot and owlet Next non-stitched areas in the details of the wings and tail should be treated with sutures: Toy parrot and owl After that, we need the finished parts of the legs, wings and tail sew to under lke: Toy parrot and sovienok After that our toy will be almost ready. So it looks from behind: Toy parrot and owl Next we need to take plain white paper and paint it with orange or gold paint on both sides ,then cut out six shapes in it in the form of feathers of different lengths:
 Toy parrot and owl
After that we have to do along the edges of each of the figures many cuts, folding these figures in half:
 Toy parrot and owlet
In order for finished feather shapes to be stronger, it is advisable to paste them over and transparent scotch. When all the feathers are ready, they will need to be sewn to the craft:

After that, everything , our first toy is ready:

Next, we undertake to make a toy owl. First we cut out a paper for him: a sample:

Then we,dividing this sample into three parts (torso, neck and head), we cut out three more samples from the other sheet of paper (wings, legs and tail), and then cut the parts from the fabric according to these samples in pairs:
Toy parrot and owl
Now we sew around the edges of each of the figures, leaving small sections of the allowance. We start sewing with crafts:
 Toy parrot and owlet
We sew the head, neck, wings, paws and tail without any problems, but in the most last of all, we undertake sewing the torso, because we need to sew ready-made legs on it. We first pin them from the bottom.
 Toy parrot and owlet
When stitching, you need to change the position of the paws at the body from top to bottom - send them with the front sides inwards and then sew:
 Toy parrot and owl
Next, we need to turn the sewn parts of the wings, head and neck with the body and tail out of the wrong side and on the front of the head of the futuretoys remove excess fur for ease when sewing eyes:
 Toy parrot and owlet
We sew wings to the body, then fill it with cotton:
Toy parrot and owlet
Before filling the head of a future toy with cotton, we must sew to it the beak and eyes made of white, black and brown mk ana:
