A sensor is a simple switch whose contacts close at a certain temperature.
Pump installed in the engine block, driven by the timing belt, is needed to circulate the coolant in the system. And the thermostat just switches the cooling circles. The radiator is also available in the heating system; it is installed in the stove (cochlea). To it is one pipe from the unit (hot liquid) through the faucet mounted on the body. And one pipe goes from the stove and goes to the thermostat.
Nozzles and clamps are already minor details, but they affect the operation of the entire system, since it is along them that the cooling fluid moves. The slightest crack in the pipe can cause a rapid decrease in the level of coolant, increase its temperature.The engine block has one or two temperature sensors, they are necessary for the operation of the temperature gauge and the ECU.

How the cooling system works


When starting a cold engine, the coolant moves in a small circle. If it is easier, then all the nodes work, except for the radiator. The main task after starting the engine is to quickly reach the operating temperature, which is about 90 degrees. When the system works with the main radiator, it is quite difficult to do this; warming up will take a longer period of time. Plus, the throttle valve is turned on in the small circle.
When the thermostat is opened, it switches to the large circle in which the radiator participates. Due to its inclusion in the work of cooling is much more efficient. At high speed, when the flow of oncoming air is very good, the temperature stays at the same level. And when driving in traffic, when there is no this flow, the coolant temperature rises. The sensor installed in the radiator is responsible for the operation of the fan. When a certain temperature is reached, the contacts close, the fan turns on, creating a powerful air flow.
