Do not do it this way! Do you properly care for dishes

Even the most durable dishes can deteriorate if used incorrectly. Pay attention to what it is made of - for each material requires a special approach. Our expert Sergey Pereverzev, who leads the “Useful Tips” column on Channel One, tells how to care for kitchen utensils.

Aluminum

How to care:

Cooking pots, pans and turks are suitable only for electric and gas stoves. They will leave indelible marks on the glass-ceramic, and they will not heat up on the induction one. Such dishes are suitable for cooking, but not for storage (the metal is oxidized and can penetrate into food). By the way, sour dishes - soup, pickles, pickles - it is better to cook in other containers.

How to use:

Aluminum is a soft material on which dents and scratches easily appear. Therefore, it is better not to load it into the dishwasher, but rather to wash it manually with a soft sponge with gentle agents, otherwise the product will quickly lose its shape and luster.Burnt food is recommended to clean with a scraper for dishes or pour water and let it soak.

Non-stick coating

How to use:

It is important to remember that such dishes are afraid of high and too low temperatures. Therefore, heat it gradually, try not to cook at maximum heat, never put an empty pan on the stove. If the dishes need to warm up, add a little oil to it. Do not store food in it and do not put it in the refrigerator - this leads to the destruction of the coating.

Use only wooden or silicone spatulas for cooking. Scratched coating deprives the dishes of all the special properties.

How to care:

You can only wash the cooled dishes. You can not fill a hot pot with cold water - the non-stick coating may crack or peel off from a sharp temperature difference.

Many manufacturers allow the use of a dishwasher, but still it is not recommended.

Use only soft cleaners and special sponges.

Tree

How to use:

Lacquer and painted wooden utensils are generally not suitable for food.Cutting boards not soaked with a water-repellent layer (in the kitchen it’s better to have at least three - separately for bread, fish and vegetables), it is recommended to wipe it with linseed oil before first use. The longest are products from a single piece of wood.

How to care:

Wooden utensils should not be soaked in water, and should be washed immediately after use. Each item is washed separately, wiped dry and stored in a dry place. And wooden shovels and spoons are best kept in an open stand, they need good ventilation.
